Marie A. (Tady) Sovitski

Age 100, a longtime resident of Creighton, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Applewood Personal Care Home, Brackenridge.  Born on May 24, 1917, in Greensburg, she was the daughter of the late Anna (Packpac) and Thomas Tady, Sr.  Marie and her late husband, Joseph J. Sovitski, Sr., celebrated 57 years of marriage.  Together, they owned and operated the former Sovitski's store in Creighton for 45 years.  Before moving to Creighton, she resided in Russellton where she helped her mom, Anna, operate a grocery store in Russellton.  She was a member of Holy Family R.C. Church, Creighton.  Marie enjoyed cooking, baking, and flower gardening.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, on June 22, 1997, a son, Joseph J. Sovitski, Jr., on January 11, 2003, a grandson, Jason Sovitski, three brothers, Jacob, John, and George Tady, and two sisters, Helen Radko and Barbara Saunders.  Survivors include a son, Charles J. (Paula) Sovitski of Buffalo Township, her daughter-in-law, Sharilyn Belt Sovitski of Creighton, a brother, Thomas Tady, Jr., a sister, Anna Barla of Oakmont; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.  Family and friends will be received from 2 -4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Paul R. Ajak Funeral Home, Inc., 921 Freeport Road, Creighton where parting prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday.  Christian Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. Holy Family R.C. Church, 787 Freeport Road, Creighton.  Officiating will be the Rev. Thomas L. Gillespie, MD.  Burial will follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar.
