Charles Leroy Oswald, Jr.

Passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the age of 62. He lived in  Tarentum but grew up in Oakmont. He was born March 7, 1961 in Pittsburgh, and was the son of the late Charles L. Sr. and Mary D. (Shamburg) Oswald.  Charles' school years were all spent in the Riverview School District, Oakmont but his later years took him to Tarentum. He enjoyed his world of friends and he never met a stranger while driving his motor scooter around the area where he was lovingly known. He was a fan of 70's classic rock, joke telling, fishing, doing impersonations and supporting the Black and Gold local teams. Chuck absolutely loved his family and especially his nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David C. Oswald. He is survived by his brother, John Oswald (Barbara) of Thurmont, MD, his sisters, Patricia L. Higgins of Blawnox and Theresa Grieco (Tony) of Irwin; also by eight nephews and two great nephews.

There will be no visitation. A Christian funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 12 noon at Holy Family Parish, St. Irenaeus Church 387 Maryland Ave. Oakmont, Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to  CAMPCRANIUM.ORG/DONATE  They organize an overnight, week long camping experience for kids with brain injuries. Fully funded from donations, grants and fundraisers. Thank you.
