Dorothy Jane (Harris) Janosky

Age 84, of Creighton, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 29, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.  Born on February 1, 1933, in Creighton, she was the daughter of the late William and Wilomena (Oblinger) Harris.  She was a lifelong resident of Creighton.  Jane graduated from East Deer Frazer High School Class of 1952 where she was a majorette.  She married her high school sweetheart, the late Tom Janosky, on June 1, 1953.  They were married 51 years.  Jane had worked as a secretary for Alcoa Aluminum Corporation in New Kensington.  She was also a secretary at East Deer Frazer Elementary School and the Freeport Brick Company in Creighton. Jane was a member of Janes United Methodist Church, Creighton. Jane enjoyed being a homemaker and was an excellent baker, famous for her Red Velvet Cake. She was fond of wildlife. Jane also adored and cared for her three cats that she took in as strays. She enjoyed keeping in touch with friends by sending cards.  She is survived by her caring daughter, Cynthia Paskorz of Creighton and her loving former son-in-law, David Paskorz; and many precious nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda L. Janosky; two  brothers, William and Walter Harris; and, three sisters, Margie Guiciardi, Betty Putirka, and Nancy Phillips.  Relatives and friends will be received from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017 in the Paul R. Ajak Funeral Home, Inc., 921 Freeport Road, Creighton, PA 15030.  Funeral Services will begin Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Janes United Methodist Church, 947 Freeport Road, Creighton with her pastor, Rev. Megan Y. Berkebile, officiating.  Everyone please meet at the church.  Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge.  Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Janes United Methodist Church.
