Bernice (Nowikowski) Smith

Age 72, of Apollo went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 28, 2020 at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, Pittsburgh. Bernice was born on November 27, 1948 in Natrona Heights and the daughter of the late Vincent "Bill" and Antoinette "Anna" (Rozpierski) Nowikowski.

She spent much of her life living in Natrona. She graduated from Har-Brack High School and worked in retail management for Hills, Ames, and most recently Dollar Tree at various locations.

Bernice leaves behind her loving and devastated husband and companion of 25 years, David Smith of Apollo. She also leaves behind her son, Jason (Cary) Ankney of Natrona Heights, several grandchildren, two step-sisters and two half-sisters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lenore Kocon. Bernice spent the past three years of her life living at Quality Life Services in Apollo. While there, she became speechless and communicated by her expressions and gestures to her many friends she made at the home.
