Obituary

Betty L. (Simmons) McGuire

Age 75, of Springdale, formerly of Tarentum where she was a longtime resident,  passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Harmar Village Care Center, Cheswick.  She was born on November 7, 1947 in Fredericksburg, Virginia and was the daughter of Clinton and Goldie (Michael) Simmons.  

She was a past social member of the Tarentum Eagles, Tarentum Elks, and Tarentum VFW.  Betty enjoyed bingo, playing cards, and solving crossword puzzles.  

Survivors include her three children, Dave McGuire (Katie) of Lower Burrell, Billie Jo (Robert) Eckman of Natrona Heights and Steve Bartell of Natrona Heights, three grandchildren, Allison McGuire, Aidan Eckman, and Blake Bartell, and a great-grandson, Holden Kolar.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Simmons and her three sisters, Georgia Nolker, Mary Lou Scott, and Bonnie Milliron.  

Relatives and friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Paul R. Ajak Funeral Home, Inc., 921 Freeport Road, Creighton, PA 15030.  Burial will be private.
