Betty Jean (Knighton) Nacey
Age 91, of Apollo, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. She was born on February 27, 1931 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Charles and Irene (Szczepanski) Knighton.
Betty liked flower gardening and prided herself on the upkeep and interior decorating in her home. She worked for many years for the former Gee Bee Department Store in Monroeville as the Snack Bar Manager. Betty also enjoyed being a homeowner. She was a longtime member of the Red Hat Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Nacey, a son, Michael R. Nacey, two brothers, Charles Knighton Jr. and Leroy Knighton and one sister, Grace Knighton. Survivors include five children, Thomas (Donna) Nacey Jr. of Delmont, Richard Nacey of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, James (Terri) Nacey of Slickville, Patricia (Thomas) Airhart of Plum Borough, and David (Allison) Nacey of Apollo; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the Apollo Free Methodist Church, 1027 PA-56, Apollo. with a lunch to follow in the social hall. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery South in Millsboro, Delaware.
