Dolores “Dee” B. Vidra

Of Natrona Heights, formerly of Creighton, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Born in Creighton to the late John S. And Mary Agnes (Tvrdovsky) Vidra.  
 

Dee was a graduate of East Deer-Frazer High School Class of 1955 and earned her Bachelor's degree from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA, School of Banking.   She furthered her studies at the American Institute of Banking and Robert Morris.  Dee was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Natrona Heights, the former Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Creighton. Dee was very active at her former Holy Family R.C. Church as a dedicated volunteer for numerous church fundraisers including pierogi making sessions, bake sales, fish fry dinners, festivals, and the church finance committee.  She also enjoyed being a member of the former Holy Family Ladies Guild and was elected to serve on Parish Council.  Her career in banking started as a teller at Peoples Bank in Tarentum.  

During her 42 years in banking, she worked her way up to Executive Vice President at Southwest National Bank in Tarentum and retired in June 1997.  Throughout her career, she was a board member of Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, Community Library of Allegheny Valley, Allegheny Valley HOPE Center and Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Institute of Banking. She was a member of the Allegheny Valley Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Banking Women, and served as President and as a Chairperson for a committee for Allegheny Valley Business and Professional Women’s Organization.  Dee enjoyed spending over 65 years at the camp her father and relatives built in Warren County.  Her uncle was one of the founding members at a camp which she also loved traveling to in Potter County.  She was a past usher at the Benedum and Byham theaters, liked to bake and sew, and enjoyed traveling to Europe and other overseas destinations for over 20 years with her dear friend, Father Miro and his traveling group.  

Survivors include her many cousins.  

Relatives and friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023 in the Paul R. Ajak Funeral Home, Inc., 921 Freeport Road, Creighton, PA 15030.  Parting prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 in the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m.Christian Funeral Mass at the Guardian Angels Parish, Our Lady of Victory Campus, 1319 Low Grade Road, Harwick, PA 15049.  Burial will follow in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
