Helen C. (Lewandowski) Sadowski

Age 99, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at her grandson's parish, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Retreat Center in New Baltimore, Pa., with her family by her side.  Born on March 22, 1921 in Natrona, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Apollonia (Topolski) Lewandowski.  Helen was a lifelong resident of Natrona. 

She was a talented seamstress and worked for Joseph Horne Co. Department Store, Natrona Heights for 30 years.  She was the head seamstress for all alterations.  Helen was fluent in Polish and traveled in the 1970's herself to Poland to visit her family.  She loved the Polish traditions and the culture.  In addition to sewing, she enjoyed gardening and creating her flower beds, and her travels to Poland and Alaska.  She was a devoted mother and housewife to her family.   Helen was a member of Guardian Angels Parish/St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church, Natrona. 

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Ann Pattock, Coatesville, Pa., grandchildren, Jeffrey (Nadene) Pattock, Fr. Mark Pattock, OFM Cap., Andrea Pattock, Michelle (Zane) Vanhook, Helen (Mike) Hines, Carlene Braun and three adopted grandsons,  Gregory, Geoffrey and Christopher Sadowski; great-grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Pattock, Ashley Wilmont, Dylan Wilmont, Zane Vanhook Jr., Renae Hines, Mike Hines, Jeremy Braun and Britney Braun; great-great-grandsons, William Pattock and Anthony Hines, and her sister, Wanda Vascik.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John J. Sadowski on December 7, 2000, a son, John T. Sadowski and daughter-in-law, Lorraine Sadowski,  a great-granddaughter, Whitley Leigh Vanhook, and son-in-law, Daniel Pattock.

Family and friends will be received Friday, January 22, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Paul R. Ajak Funeral Home, Inc., 2 Pine Street and River Avenue, Natrona where parting prayers will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 800 Montana Avenue, Natrona Heights.  Her grandson, Father Mark Pattock, OFM Cap. will officiate.  Burial will follow in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township. Due to current regulations, masks and social distancing are required in the funeral home and church.
