Kaylyn A. Gilligan 

Age 32, of Tarentum, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at home.  She was born on August 2, 1990 in Natrona Heights and was the daughter of Lance R. Gilligan and Kerry S. Shoop.

Kaylyn was a graduate of Highlands High School Class of 2008 and furthered her education at Triangle Tech.  Early in her career, she worked for Resources for Human Development as a Direct Support Professional empowering people with disabilities.  She loved raising her two young daughters, Josephine and Gracie, and being their mom.  She was of Catholic faith.  Kaylyn was  talented in creating art journals, adored her cats, and especially went out of her way to help others.  

Survivors include her cherished daughters, Josephine Butcher and Gracie Butcher both at home, her father, Lance R. Gilligan of Tarentum, her mother, Kerry S. (Hutchens) Shoop of New Kensington, a brother and her best friend, Chandler Shoop of Tarentum, her fiancé, Shawn F. Butcher of Tarentum, her uncle, David Hutchens of Cabot, three aunts, Rowena, Daniela and Mara, a close friend, Kristen Clark of Natrona Heights, and her AA and NA support family.  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charles and Helen Gilligan, maternal grandparents, Arthur and Harriet Hutchens, and her uncle, William Hutchens.  

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the Paul R. Ajak Funeral Home, Inc., 921 Freeport Road, Creighton, PA 15030.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family for Josephine and Gracie Butcher of Tarentum.
