Obituary

Kenneth J. “Cookie” Venus, 75, of New Kensington, formerly of Creighton, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Platinum Ridge Rehabilitation Center, Brackenridge.  He was born on December 17, 1947 in New Kensington and was the son of the late William and Martha (Kraynik) Venus.  
 

Cookie worked as a janitor at ALCOA, Upper Burrell.  He liked watching sports and enjoyed photography.  He was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, the former Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Creighton and was an active church volunteer with the clean-up crew at the fish fry fundraiser dinners.  

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, John Venus.  Survivors include his sister, Rose Marie Venus of New Kensington and a niece and nephew.  

In accordance with his wishes, visitation and blessing prayers by Rev. Fr. Andrew Fischer were private in the funeral home.  Burial followed in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township.  Arrangements entrusted to the PAUL R.
