Maryanna (Lyons) McAninch

Age 90, formerly of Frazer Township, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Buffalo Township.  She was born on March 8, 1931 in Winslow Township and was the daughter of the late Sylan M. and Gertrude M. (Hilliard) Lyons.

She worked as a custodian for the Deer Lakes School District and was a cook and waitress at the former Sobran’s Restaurant, Russellton.  She attended the Lower Burrell Baptist Church.  Maryanna enjoyed gardening and liked to tend to her flowers.  

She was an avid reader of the Bible.  Most of all, Maryanna loved spending time with her family.  

Survivors include her children, one son, John Daryl (Lan) McAninch of Frazer Township, three daughters, Darlene May Habblett of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Diana Lynn (Mark) Harbison of West Leechburg, Dawn Annette (Charles) Vocke of Buffalo Township, nine grandchildren, T. J., Brian, Terri (Corey), Dustin (Brandy), Tracy (Jim), Jen (Johnny), Chris (Casie), Josh (Michele), and Heather and twenty-one great-grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler, Ryan, Zoe, Peri, Hudson, Bennett, Brooklyn, Lilly, Camille, Gianna, Julius, Logan, Gavin, Silas, Finnick, Brandon, Alyssa, Mandy, Ray and Roni.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John McAninch, who passed away on March 8, 2005, a great-granddaughter, Hannah, and her two brothers, J.C. Lyons and Arden Lyons.  

Relatives and friends will be received from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in the Paul R. Ajak Funeral Home, Inc., 921 Freeport Road, Creighton.  Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021 in the funeral home by Pastor James Clemens of the Lower Burrell Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Township.
