Dr. Paul C. Fiehler, 69, of Buffalo Township, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Born on October 11, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Wilbur Paul and Virginia Lee (Burcham) Fiehler. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. He was a pulmonologist in private practice at Associates in Respiratory Medicine in Bloomfield and Freeport. Dr. Fiehler was previously President at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital, commonly referred to as "West Penn Hospital", Pittsburgh. His patients referred to him as the best doctor in the world. Dr. Fiehler was an admired physician whose career was not just a profession, but a calling. Dr. Fiehler was a military historian and enjoyed writing and reading poetry. Survivors include his wife, Miriam (Kukuruda) Fiehler, his children, Stephen (Taylor) Fiehler of San Francisco, California and Katelyn Fiehler of Philadelphia, his step-children, Julie (Mike) Russo, Jessica (Jason) Simonson, Jaimie (Kyle) Grimes, all of Pittsburgh; a granddaughter, Blue Fiehler and three step-grandchildren, Paxton Simonson, Liam and Emilia Russo; a brother, Alan (Nancy) Fiehler of Houston, Texas, and two sisters, Lenore Fiehler of The Woodlands, Texas and Marylou (Jeff) Amann of Houston, Texas. Dr. Fiehler was predeceased by his parents and his son, Paul Cameron Fiehler. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Harmar House, 1321 Freeport Road, Cheswick, PA 15024.
