Richard A. “Rick” Hines

Age 65, of Natrona, formerly of Brackenridge, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, February 2, 2023 after many years of health battles.  He was born on December 3, 1957, in Natrona Heights, a son of late Richard C. and Patricia A. (Huth) Hines. Rick often referred to himself as the original “HINES 57”.  He was a 1976 graduate of Highlands High School, Natrona Heights.  

Rick was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and The Rolling Stones was his favorite band of all time.  Each summer, he took pride in growing and maintaining his vegetable garden.  Over the past few years, he became a puzzle master and enjoyed building them for his home and grandchildren.  He could often be spotted on his porch swing with his dog, Henry, listening to music and playing cards with his wife, Cheryl.  

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cheryl (Manchini) Hines, his children, Richard J. “R.J.” Hines of Brackenridge and Ashley Hines of Lower Burrell, grandchildren, Alexia Hines and Kolby Hines, his siblings, Deborah Bouch of Freeport, Jeffery (Lesley) Hines of Natrona Heights, Gary (Anita) Hines of Natrona Heights, Lisa (Edward) Beacom of Saxonburg, Patricia Hines of Natrona Heights, and Amy (Charles) Chelko of Natrona Heights, sister-in-law, Carol (Ned) Pfundt of Plum, and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Hines.  His family will forever miss his comedic personality and the way he adored his grandchildren.  

Relatives and friends will be received from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in the Paul R. Ajak Funeral Home, Inc., 921 Freeport Road, Creighton, PA 15030.  
 

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations will be accepted by the family to cover his final arrangements.
