Sandra M. “Sandy” (Collins) Powhutsky

Age 75, of Buffalo Township, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at home surrounded by her family.  Born on April 13, 1947 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late James and Doris (Smith) Collins.  

Sandy was a Class of 1965 Fox Chapel High School graduate.  She worked as a secretary for Gulf Research, Harmar Township, Westinghouse Defense and Space Center, Baltimore, PerkinElmer Genetics, Inc., Fox Chapel and Weleski Transfer, Inc., Tarentum.  Sandy was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Guardian Angels Parish in Natrona Heights.  

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Carl C. Powhutsky, her daughter, Alicia (Nicholas) Bubash of Sarver, a grandson, Jaxon Bubash, two brothers, Charles Collins and Mike Collins of Fox Chapel, and two sisters, Kathy Richard of Zelienople, and Chris Aupperle of Fox Chapel.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Collins and her sister, Patricia “Patti” Czako.

No Visitation. A private Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass with Fr. Andrew Fischer, presiding will be held at the Paul R. Ajak Funeral Home, 2 Pine Street at River Avenue, Natrona, PA 15065.  Burial will be private in Sarversville Cemetery.
